Muslim Collective is a dynamic Australian faith-based community for progressive thought and social action. We are a diverse and inclusive group that supports and encourages dialogue about the real issues of our time.
Ways to be Muslim is a grass-roots initiative that celebrates diversity within the Muslim community. We are Muslim Australians, reflecting a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures. United in our faith, we celebrate our diversity. We acknowledge that there are just as many ways to express the beauty of Islam, as there are Muslims around the world.
We are inviting Muslims from around the world to send in a photo with a statement on what being Muslim means to them. To take part, all you have to do is download the Ways to be Muslim poster and take a photo with it and send it to us at email@example.com. You can also share it yourself, don't forget to #ways2bmuslim.
Ten thousand hand-printed posters with the message (there are 1.6 billion ways to be Muslim) will be posted in cities around the world.
The printing of the posters (designed by artist Peter Drew) has been generously funded through a crowd-funding campaign. If you would like to know how the project is going please contact us.
A team of young Muslims are learning photography and videography skills to create new content that reflect the diversity and meaning of being Muslim today.
