SYDNEY: Terrorist/Apostate

  • The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre 78 Flushcombe Road Blacktown, NSW 2148 Australia (map)
Omar is losing his faith in Islam. His family is angry and heartbroken. They cannot accept it. Who is to blame? Themselves for migrating? For giving him Western education? Omar turns to his Anglo girlfriend, her friends and family. Can they put aside their own suspicions? That he was once a Muslim?

When Omar decides to publicly declare his loss of faith, he is forced to assess the meanings of identity, belonging, acceptance, Islam and its position in the world today.
